First and foremost, parents of children with Chovva Dosham are requested not to get upset with minor delays in marriage.
i) If the marriage is being delayed on account of Chovva Dosham, propitiation has to be done. Offering prayers to Lord Kartikeya on Tuesdays, visiting some powerful Murugan Temple will be beneficial.
ii) Observing fast on Tuesdays will be helpful, but this should be done with all sincerity.
iii) Performing poojas in certain temples dedicated to Chovva will be helpful. This will be all the morebeneficial, if the pooja etc. is performed in a religious place like Kashi, Kumbakonam etc. |
iv) There are some temples where deities are worshipped. For example: there is one Mangala Gowri temple in Kashi where one can see a huge crowd on Tuesdays. Propitiation or pooja is done in such temples for this purpose. Similarly there is one Mangaleshwar temple in Kashi. In Tanjavoor Distt., there are temples dedicated to various Navagrahas. Vaiteeshwaran temple in Tamilnadu is meant for Chovva. Readers may enquire from there.
v) In many temples where Navagraha idols are installed, please try and locate the Kuja (Mangal) idol. Perform 11 circumambulations (Pradakshinam) of the Navagraha on every Tuesday before 7.00 a.m. and after finishing 11 pradakshinams, pour milk with all divinity on Chovva Graha Idol. While performing the pradakshinam, the following slokas should be chanted silently:
